In the realm of electronic bass music and various other genres, distortion has become a trivial method for enhancing the tonal qualities of sounds, introducing three key effects: increased harmonic content, additional noise, and a distinctive flutter effect. When two signals are routed together to create unique results by distorting them, there is a significant loss of control over the individual manifestation of these three factors.

FLVTTER is a new JUCE-based VST3 audio plugin which enables similar results to be produced while the two signals remain separate. To realize this, one signal acts as a modulator, manipulating the expression of the distortion effects on the other. The processing happens in real time and the modulator itself remains unaffected. Additionally, the application facilitates the generation of new creative sounds and textures through extreme settings or unconventional modulator signals.
